Federal Data Sources
ABOUT THE DATA

All data in FEDMINE is from the federal government (see details to the right), and is of the highest available quality and integrity. This allows us to enrich the data with other government information to create actionable reports for a wide variety of users across the federal community.
One of the many benefits of using the system is that it brings together many disparate federal data sources under one roof, seamlessly integrated in an online application for quick analysis and decision making. The system contains data from the following sources as of November 2009:
‣7 years worth of federal contract awards and IT spending data that is updated daily (current as of today), from FPDS
‣7 years of all past, present and new federal solicitations, and related budget documents (with RFPs current as of yesterday going as far back as 2001, updated daily), from Firstgov
‣7 years worth of Grants data from Grants.gov with full CFDA texts
‣7 years worth of Grants data from FAADS (Federal Assistance Award Data System)
‣4 year budget data from The Executive Office Of The President
‣The latest 3 year IT Spending tables from Exhibit 53, from OMB
‣7 years worth of GSA Schedule transactions, from GSA and FPDS
‣Last 3 years of Protests filed at the GAO integrated into RFPs where possible, along with their decisions
‣Latest NAICS and PSC codes for cross updating from the Census Bureau
‣Entire DSBS database of companies registered at the SBA
‣Over 100,000 contacts most with email addresses updated daily
Protests filed at the GAO are integrated automatically via links to respective Contractor Profiles wherever possible. And each Profile is updated daily with links to new and existing federal awards announced in FedBizOpps, including their original solicitations, and awards reported in FPDS-NG transactions. This provides a rare view into all prime contractors along with their their entire business portfolio in the federal sector.
FEDMINE Prime Contractor Profiles consist of detailed information on IDV contracts (known formerly as IDIQ contracts), GSA Schedule transactions, Contract Actions by Contracting Office, by Extent of competition, by NAICS, PSC code, State, County, CBSA area, Congressional district, and many other data elements. This information is essential for finding teaming partners, identifying competitors, and for doing business with the federal government.
Amongst many of the FEDMINE premium features, complete detailed Contractor and Federal Agency Profiles are the most valuable. These Profiles come with hyperlinks to data integrated from disparate government sources that is not easy to put together in this manner. Click to view a sample.
The result is that it provides highly actionable views of information from pertinent data sets for making quick decisions, something that customers are sure to find extremely useful.
